Behind...

I know. I'm WAY behind on posting. Blogging just hasn't been at the forefront of my attention lately. Sorry.

There's a new page!!! Well, a couple of new pages. The first is "Health." On the main Health page, I tell my story of beginning a weight loss journey, share a few movie previews, and my process of blending up healthy smoothies.

I'm excited to see this weight come off. It's been packed on my 5'6" frame for FAR too long! For 15 years I've been over-weight to obese. It's just gotta end! No more! Goodbye 260 lbs. Hello 130! I'm not there yet, but I will be, Lord willing. He is my Provider and Sustainer. I certainly couldn't continue on this journey without Him.

This is more than a fad diet. This is a nutritional lifestyle change. Once I realized that the foods I'd been eating were depleted of nutrients and that that is why my body was craving food ALL. THE. TIME., I changed. I've loaded my grocery cart with vegetables and fruits that I never thought I would buy.

Right now, I'm on a sort of Reboot. I'm resetting my body to what is normal. I'm finding that I'm slowly beginning to crave the foods that are healthy for me. I could actually smell the vegetables at the grocery store yesterday, and I'm craving pickles for the first time in nearly 20 years!

I am amazed at how my body is responding to this reboot. I have a lot of energy and the results are coming so quickly that everyday has me realizing that something else fits better or is too big! What a blessing! Praise Yahuah!!!!

That's Not Fair!

The echo of the child's words has stayed with me all day.
This morning, we took our new car to church. When one of my son's friends saw it, she said, "That's not fair!"
She was notably jealous of our new (to us) vehicle. And understandably so. It's a rare vehicle, at least to our location.

Her words, however, have been echoing in my head for the past few hours. I'm almost grieved that she would say it isn't fare that our family has a vehicle that holds all of us comfortably. It pains me that she doesn't share in our joy of God's blessings. Understand that this is a child, not an adult, and that I, as an adult, should pay her no mind. But still, the words sting a little.

Why? Why am I upset that a child things God's blessings on me are unfair?

I know why. Because I've done the very same thing. I've judged someone else unworthy of an item, a thing, be it house, car, job, whatever, because I was envious of that thing. How horrible of me! Behaving as a jealous child when I ought to be rejoicing with my brother or sister in Christ. Lord, forgive me!

Have you done the same? Have you assumed that someone "beneath you" didn't deserve something that was clearly a blessing from God? Have you questioned God for blessing someone when you REALLY needed that thing?

Let us all learn this lesson, to rejoice with one another when the need is met and the blessing prepared for one another comes through.

Many people have prayed this blessing into our lives. Many people shared our joy this morning! Thank you to all who have prayed and encouraged us and been such a blessing as we waited on God. This gift is so much better than a car payment!

Fighting Doubt

Have you ever been in that place of need? You know. That place where all you have are needs?

Well, that's where we are right now. Needs abound, and the answers don't seem to be coming as quickly as the needs.

It has been frustrating to see these needs come and to seemingly have our prayers unanswered. Yet, I realize that my prayers have been for increased faith. Silly me. That must be something like praying for patience. You wont get patience, per se, but you will get an abundance of opportunities to practice patience.

So, that's what we are facing. Multiple needs and the opportunity to practice our faith.

Oh, Lord, continue to increase our faith, even when it seems our prayers are going unanswered. I know You hear us!

Garden Update

Our garden is nearly done for the season. As this Feast of Trumpets announces the sh'mittah (Sabbath or 7th year), we will not be planting next year. Anything that grows of it's own accord will be harvested as needed.
Thanks for watching our trial Back To Eden garden this year! Join us again in 2016, if the Lord tarries and the creek don't rise (as my grandpa used to say).
